As a world premiere, I discovered a new shopping experience! From October 1 to 13, 2018, a special studio was present at the Grand’place shopping centre in Grenoble: Veertus, a Grenoble startup. It offers you stylistic advice and clothing from the latest brand collections according to your morphology.
A look back at my visit to Veertus with its founder Jean-Marie Caoudal.
How does it work?
Just enter a 3D studio, infrared technology will determine 24000 points of your silhouette in four seconds! So, no pictures, just measurements. It’s fast, accurate and reliable. Once your account is created, this data is used to offer you the best outfits thanks to the free Veertus application. After the scan, I received an email with personalized advice that matches my “X” shape and a link to my account in the application.
This Tinder of shopping will then show you the clothes one by one, according to the filters you have chosen: type of clothes, brand, price and promotional code.
It’s up to you to decide whether you like the clothes on display or not, swipe right or left!
You will find your favorites in your Fashionlist, and you can filter them again. Fortunately, because Fashion addicts might have a very long list!
On each garment selected, you will find the description of the item, its composition and the available colours. You also have the choice between buying in store (with a location map) or online (opening of the brand’s website). The more you use Veertus, the more the clothes you will be offered will be adapted to your tastes. All this, thanks to deep learning and artificial intelligence. Technology is great!
Obviously, after enjoying the articles, I wanted to continue the experience in the shop!
I decided to try on a Zara faux leather dress and I was not disappointed. The dress was a perfect match for my morphology!
In the long term, exclusive vouchers will be offered to users of the application.
Why use Veertus?
I think this application is a time saver when looking for specific items and a help for people who are not comfortable with fashion. For shopping addicts, we will always love to stroll through the shops but it can also help us find items that we haven’t seen on the shelves.
On the brand side, it means increased and personalized visibility of their collection: 25,000 references are updated daily. They will also be able to know which garments work best and adapt their production thanks to the feedback of Veertus. They will be able to go further, by advising them on how to create collections according to market expectations.
A tour of several major cities in France is in progress. The ultimate goal is to set up Veertus studios in shopping centres in France and then in Europe.
Would you be ready to be scanned and try this “phygital” experience – physical and digital?
