Routine doesn’t make you dream, and sometimes all it takes is a little nudge to start the change. So here are 15 things you can do to be happier in your life 🙂
1/ Plan your grocery shopping and meal plan at the same time
It saves you time and makes sure you’re trying out new recipes!
2/ Find your favourite podcat(s)
Whether you’re passionate about crime, a beauty addict, want to learn a new language or can’t get enough of pop culture, there’s a podcast for you. Podcasts put you in the present moment, stimulate your brain, AND can be fun and enriching during a commute.
3/ Take a break from the screens
Sometimes, all you have to do is turn off your phone, laptop or TV. Instead, take care of yourself. You can simply exercise, take a bath, read a good book, cook, wear a beauty mask or manicure, etc.
4/ Try meat-free Monday
How to incorporate vegetarianism into your life as simply as possible? Meatlesss Monday is the easiest way to do it. It doesn’t have to be a Monday, but it’s pretty fun to do it this way! This year, I hope it will give you some ideas. I will share with you some food ideas 🙂 Have you tried my recipe for tofu fingers in honey mustard sauce? A delight!
5/ Enjoy more sunshine!
Going out and getting some fresh air is good for you. Now that it’s winter, the sun doesn’t shine as bright as it used to, goodbye vitamin D! Now that it’s winter, the sun doesn’t shine as bright as it used to. You can get it from a food supplement or try a sun lamp for your office to keep your morale high!
6/ Try a new recipe every week
A refreshing change in our diet stimulates us and can even make us travel!
7/ Make it a goal to laugh every day
We’ll still be in cold, dreary weather for the first part of 2019. Bring some brightness to your day with laughter because it seriously is the best medicine of the workd. (I know, I know, so cheesy).
8/ Stop caring about what other people think
I know this is easier said than done, but I’m so over feeling like I have to portray a certain persona if that’s not me. You have nothing to be ashamed of for your desires or passions!
9/ Do your exercises outdoors
You don’t need to go hiking in the mountains to get some outdoor exercise. Walk around your neighbourhood (with your favourite dog!), find a trail near you, or simply slide your yoga mat on your balcony or go to the park.
10/ Follow your faves on Instagram
From the best body positive women to follow to your favorite fitness gurus, there’s someone to inspire you to be healthier in both your mind and your body!
11/ Start a journal for gratitude
With everything that happens in our daily lives, thinking about gratitude can be difficult. Devote an entire journal (you may not have one, but the writing is excellent for yourself!) and discuss your gratitude every day. It is not necessary for the sentences to be complete. All you have to do is get down to it! And little by little, our brains will see more and more of the positive in our lives:)
12/ Need a dessert? Try banana ice cream!
We all have a bit of a sweet tooth, however, we can’t get chocolate chip cookies every day (we’ll sure try though!). Instead, try banana ice cream! Simply mix frozen banana pieces until they have the consistency of ice cream. You can add cocoa powder, other fruits, veggies or just about anything you want. In the end, ice cream without sugar or cream! Yummy!
13/ Wake up early for self-care
Give yourself some extra time in the morning for the things you love, whether that’s a fitness class, a gourmet breakfast, a meditation or some time with your new favorite book.
14/ Turn your phone off an hour before bed
The harsh blue light from a phone, a computer or a tv screen can make falling asleep difficult. Prioritize your sleep (and getting rid of those dark circles) by putting those screens out of sight for the hour before bed. An hour doesn’t sound like much, but you’ll get so much done in that hour away from your phone! If you still can’t get out of your screens, try to wear anti-blue light glasses.
15/ Let yourself have a pizza
Being healthy doesn’t have to mean that you never eat carbs or you workout every day. If your body feels good, and you’re just craving some pizza, go for it. It also works for a chocolate éclair, or any other desire you may have! A little pleasure never hurts!
